Meet Richard
Two decades of practice.
All of it for you.
Richard West has been meditating since his twenties — not as a side interest, but as a central part of how he lives and works. A career in music gave him a deep understanding of presence, attention and the body under pressure. Meditation gave him the tools to come back to himself when things got loud.
He began teaching because he kept meeting people who needed what he had — and couldn’t find it anywhere that didn’t feel like a performance. He built Bed Light & Beyond with Julie partly for this reason: a space that takes the practice seriously without taking itself too seriously.
“I’m not interested in teaching meditation as a wellness trend. I’m interested in what actually helps — which is usually simpler than people expect.”Richard West — Founder & Meditation Teacher
What it supports
The quiet return
to yourself.
Clarity & focus
Regular practice builds the capacity to think more clearly and respond rather than react — particularly useful under sustained pressure or decision fatigue.
Calm & resilience
Not suppression — genuine nervous system regulation. Over consistent sessions most people find they hold difficulty differently, with less friction.
Presence & rest
The capacity to actually stop — to be somewhere rather than passing through it. Many members describe better sleep and a quieter relationship with worry.
